Some couples just know exactly what they want, and John and Katy were two of them. Almost as soon as John proposed, they reached out to book their engagement session — with a wedding coming up fast that spring, they wanted their photos ready in plenty of time for their save-the-dates.
Golden hour in Brighton
We met at Fillmore County Park in Brighton, just a few minutes from John's work, timing everything so we could catch the very last of the day's light. There's nothing quite like that soft, low autumn sun, and it wrapped around the two of them beautifully.
The way he looks at her
What struck me most was how plainly you could see their love for each other. John had complete puppy-dog eyes for his future wife the entire evening — the kind of look you can't pose for — and it came through in every single frame.
Counting down to May
It was a beautiful night with an even lovelier couple. Sessions like this are such a gift, and honestly, they made my job easy. I can't wait to celebrate with them at their wedding this May!
