Session Prep
The right outfits help you feel confident and keep the focus on your family's connection. Here's my simple approach — and once you book, I'll help you style your specific session.
Pick two or three colors that work well together and dress everyone within that range. Think of it like decorating a room — a cohesive palette of soft, muted tones instantly makes a group look pulled together, while still letting each person's outfit feel like their own.
Soft pastels, creams, and gentle florals echo the blooms. Bring a light layer for cool Michigan mornings and evenings.
Breathable linens and flowy dresses catch the golden-hour breeze. Stick to muted tones over neon, and dress in light layers to stay cool.
Rich rusts, deep greens, mustard, and warm neutrals glow against the changing leaves. Cozy sweaters and boots photograph beautifully.
Jewel tones, creamy knits, and layered coats, hats, and mittens keep everyone warm and add texture. Deep greens and berry tones feel festive without clashing.
Form-fitting or flowing gowns beautifully show the bump — I have a client wardrobe of gowns available. Golden-hour light and soft, solid colors keep the focus on you.
Keep baby in simple, neutral onesies or wraps, and parents in soft solids. Avoid anything scratchy; think cozy, calm, and timeless.
Start with mom's outfit, then build everyone else's palette around it. Mix solids with one gentle pattern to tie the group together.
Bring 2–3 looks that reflect your personality — from casual to dressed-up. Pieces you feel great in will always photograph best.
Book your session and I'll send personalized styling help so your outfits are picture-perfect.
